Speaker: Brenda Tappan, Risk Management Consultant United Educators

Brenda Tappan, ARM joined United Educators as a Risk Management Consultant in September of 2006. As a member of the Risk Management Team, she works with her colleagues to develop and deliver resources to help members identify and mitigate risks. Brenda works directly with many educational institutions on implementing good practices based on their unique campus culture. She frequently presents to and facilitates discussions with UE members as well as at regional and national conferences of professional organizations on a broad array of topics that create a source of risk for institutions of higher education.

Brenda completed her Bachelor’s Degree with a double major in Education and Women’s Studies at Colgate University in 2003, graduating Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa. She obtained her Associate in Risk Management designation from the Insurance Institute of America in June 2005. Brenda completed her Master’s Degree in the Communication and Leadership Strategies Graduate Program at Gonzaga University in 2013, graduating Summa Cum Laude.

Prior to her employment with United Educators, Brenda spent 16 years at Colgate University, including 13 years as Insurance and Risk Management Coordinator
